Roles & Responsibilities About the Role: This role, as part of the SCOR Risk Management team and based on Singapore involves leading the Life risk management activities in Asia Pacific. This includes supporting Life entities and Life business across the APAC Macro markets in the development and maintenance of risk management systems, comprising risk appetite, policies, processes and reporting procedures and promoting the development of Risk Culture, through building and sharing knowledge across the APAC Macro Markets, on SCOR’s Life and Health exposures worldwide. Risk Analysis Interact and build relationships within the APAC macro-markets and throughout the wider SCOR Group. Contribute as a thought leader in insurance risk management, through selective participation in industry working groups, delivery of client training and industry presentations. Promote Risk culture: o Support a culture of transparency and thoughtful approach towards assessing and managing the macro-markets risks. o Promote knowledge sharing and learning from experience in the macro-markets. o Promote the development and maintenance of a risk management system covering the following areas: strategic risks; underwriting and reserving; ALM; investment; liquidity and concentration risk management; operational risk management; emerging risks and reinsurance/other risk mitigation techniques. o Provide guidance on implementation of Risk Management frameworks for Life Macro Markets and entities in APAC, supporting best practices to mitigate operational risks related to the range of geographic locations concerned. Macro analysis: o Participate in specific projects on topics related to exposures and strategy in APAC macro markets. o Leveraging the SCOR networks, support knowledge development for macro-market risks in APAC. o Support the implementation of risk management systems allowing the identification, measurement, monitoring and reporting of individual and aggregate risks, highlighting interdependencies between risks on a continuous basis. Micro analysis: o Contribute to the review of product solutions at design stage and provide risk management opinion and proposals for risk mitigants in the design. o Support the risk management review of group referrals for APAC Life & Health business transactions. Risk Reporting Support macro markets in developing and maintaining risk management frameworks, including risk appetite, policies, committees, and reporting procedures. Coordinate and develop contributions to risk reporting, in particular contributions to the Risk Dashboard. Oversight of risk topics for management and Board Risk Committees as required. Oversight and support to local and Group Own Risk and Solvency Assessment or equivalents. Input into regional / local stress tests developed for risk and capital management purposes. Governance Participate to the Risk Committee of APAC regional life entities. Support Life macro-markets and legal entities in interacting with local regulators. Provide guidance through to local CRO and risk managers of Life entities / macro markets. Required experience & competencies Training: Actuarial training, scientific or economic background. Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in (re)insurance or risk management. Strong knowledge of Regulatory requirements, including Solvency II and global regulatory frameworks. Strong understanding of biometric risks. Personal Competences: Strong interpersonal skills: excellent leadership, strong network building, robust communication skills. Organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines, result driven with high quality standards. Appetite for technical topics, proven ability to challenge.
