THE POSITION The successful candidate will join an established team with the target of expanding the current network of clients and industry professionals in the vegoil derivatives space. Additional responsibilities include: Executing orders between traders to buy or sell via phone or computer Identifying potential clients via research and cold-calling Meeting with new and existing clients on a consistent basis to develop and maintain business relationships Monitoring and analysing market performance and communicating it to customers Working with heads of brokering teams to develop business Front office position working with and supporting brokers with daily activities including preparation of daily market reports SKILLS & COMPETENCIES The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit to increase the existing client portfolio. The following skills and competencies are required for this position: Computer literate (Excel proficiency), with excellent numeracy skills Detail-oriented and able to judge the risk/reward trade-off in daily operations Able to think and react quickly a fast-paced environment Capable of delivering information to clients in a very fast and efficient manner. Always seeking information, fully engaged with the markets and with an ability to understand market trends, changes in volatility during the trading session Able to negotiate in order to maximize desk profitability Team player and willing to share the desk vision and culture Must have very strong interpersonal skills and be an excellent communicator Motivated, self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset Strong writing skills, ability to analyse and report on market fundamentals, technical, and trading themes Strong analytical skills, ability to decipher market activity and formulate opinions and ideas based on market activity Proficient in Microsoft office suite with a strong working knowledge of Excel SCB’s Primary Function Indicators of success in brokering include: An ability to develop trust quickly with people A methodical approach to assertively pushing sales along a process A willingness and ability to learn new products and markets Strong “Corporate Literacy”, being able to use new technology, following rules and acting as part of a team QUALIFICATIONS A degree in finance, mathematics or business preferred, or relevant work experience as a broker in Vegoil Derivatives A couple of years’ experience brokering will be an added advantage FCA and NFA or Series 3 approved (to be obtained within the first month of employment) Experience in sales required SCB provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
