It has provided SCA with a better insight into what type of person we require, rather than focusing on “activities”. Working in a Marketing function is the same in most companies – being a point of contact for customers, POS, imaginary, PR, branding and normally a bit of internal communications and digital work thrown in too. Experience in these activities come as a prerequisite, you’ll know how to do them (or you will learn how to do it on the job). What’s more important is that “spark” – the one where your confident personality, passion and loyalty to our brand and our products, ripples into every task you do and, every discussion you have with every person inside, and outside our business. You’re seen as the “go to” person for all things marketing and helping our business achieve its’ objectives and you’ll approach such “activities” with compassion and a genuine care to help and support. We have a variety of customers in the Building and Retail sector, so your ability to communicate is essential. Two different sectors with two different needs that you’ll easily manage by adjusting your style and “spark” accordingly. Degree educated would be nice but we are looking for someone who has first (or second) hand experience of being able to shape the marketing function to positively influence our profitability, brand and competitive edge (additionally, it would be extremely benefit if home improvements and interior design is your “hobby”!) What can we offer you? You might be working as a Marketing Assistant now, or you could be fresh out of University with some amazing internships under your belt. This role sits between the £21k and £35k bracket, depending upon your experience. You will report to the Key Account Manager but will have dotted line reports to 4 senior managers in our business – an incredible opportunity to build on your experience and skills!
