Russel Metals is one of the largest metal distribution and processing companies in North America servicing customers primarily in Canada and the United States. The company conducts business in three metals distribution segments: metals service centres, energy products and steel distributors. We are looking for an ERP Financial Business Analyst, one that has proven success implementing ERP solutions in medium to large, multi-branch organisations from start to finish in a supply chain or manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Director of ERP Implementation and as part of the IS group and an existing team of Business Analysts, this role will work closely with our implementation partner consultants, various business stakeholders, and members of our technology team to architect and successfully execute ERP implementation and rollout in a multi-phase, multi-site project spanning Canada and the US. Main Responsibilities: Review and understand the existing business model and processes to translate requirements into the future state of the application. Work collaboratively with our implementation partner and internal team members to design and architect solutions ensuring best industry practices. Support all pillars of the project execution (Sales, Finance, Manufacturing / Warehouse & Procurement) to ensure clarity and visibility throughout the project team. Actively monitoring project risks and scope to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively working with project teams to identify solutions to address them in advance. Assist in building test scripts. Assist in education and construction of training materials. Ensure tasks are completed in line with overall project plan, timeline and budget Proactively identify potential risks and gaps to ensure proper mitigating strategies can be developed and communicated transparently. Work with key stakeholders to define and analyse comprehensive metrics to inform the success of projects post go-live. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required: Proven experience partaking in large scale ERP projects with Tier1 ERP solutions within a manufacturing or supply chain entity. Strong understanding of business systems and processes. Experience in supporting Finance and Accounting functions: - o COA (Chart of Accounts) o Financial Reporting o Financial Consolidation o GL o AP / AR o Inventory Management o Forecasting o Cash Management & Fixed Assets Experience in the following integrated functions are of benefit: - o Procurement o Sales operations o Manufacturing o Logistics o WMS o Master Data Management o EDI Ability to identify opportunities for optimisation through the project cycle and post go-live. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English (French an asset.). Effective interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus including demonstrated flexibility and end user advocacy. Highly self-motivated and proactive. Well organised with excellent analytical, interpersonal and facilitation skills. Travel to locations in the US and Canada will be required (20-30%).
