Position: Pro Shop / Chandlery Sales Clerk Reports to: Pro Shop / Chandlery Supervisor Department: Sports The Pro Shop/Chandlery Sales Clerk is responsible for providing sales and customer service to Members and Guests relating to apparel, racquets, swimming, and sailing. This individual will have superior customer service skills and be able to assist with purchases, stock, and supplies. DUTIES: Answer incoming calls to the Pro Shop and Chandlery Maintain the store, including stocking of merchandise, cleaning the store and merchandise, maintenance and setup of visual merchandising Perform administrative work as necessary Provide excellent customer service, including making sales, answering customer questions, picking retail and wholesale orders, and understanding and meeting the needs of customers Process customer transactions through the use of a cash register terminal Process customer returns and exchanges Perform opening and closing procedures of the retail Pro Shop and Chandlery Inventory control and monitoring Accurately record and process orders Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge Work in partnership with Store Managers and other employees to maximize store sales and in-store presence Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times Assist with product receiving, pricing, and daily restocking of merchandise Summer season only: pump fuel for Guests and Member boats while working in the Island shop Assist Members in person and over the phone with all aspects of sales, inquiries, court bookings, etc. Sign out bikes, stand up paddle boards, and canoes Perform other tasks as assigned by Management REQUIREMENTS: Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Attention to detail Ability to work in a team environment Motivation to continually improve the way we do business Energetic and flexible, able to work well under pressure Previous customer service experience is an asset Knowledge of sailing is not mandatory, but considered an asset Ability to lift, bend, and stoop Ability to follow direction and complete tasks as assigned HEALTH AND SAFETY: Must work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act Regulation and follow in accordance to the Club’s Health and Safety policies and procedures Report all accidents, illnesses, or ‘near miss” incidents to your direct reporting Manager immediately Standing for long periods of time Be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
