Royal Borough of Greenwich Public Health & Well-being Infant Nutrition Advisor Salary:Grade PO2; £33, 948 - £36, 711 (including London Weighting) Location:The Woolwich Centre, 35 Wellington Street, Woolwich, SE18 6HQ The Public Health & Well-being Department is responsible for improving & protecting the health & well-being of the Greenwich population. There is a particular emphasis on reducing inequalities in health outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and evaluating a programme of support which promotes healthy eating and good nutrition throughout pregnancy, birth and beyond. S/he will work alongside maternity services, health visiting, Greenwich children’s centres and other early year’s provider services with the key aim of improving nutrition and feeding behaviours that impact upon the health of the mother and baby in both the short and long term. The role will also support the Healthy Early Years London (HEYL) award scheme within Greenwich working closely with Children’s services. This will involve supporting Early Years providers with Eat Better Start Better, rolling out a training programme and supporting Quality Assurance Groups. Key requirements of the role include: To support the development of a new infant nutrition strategy for the borough To oversee the development and local implementation of the Healthy Start programme. To support the development of the wider food and health and early years agenda in particular Healthy Early Year London (HEYL). This will include supporting Children’s Centres to move from Silver to Gold award. To provide evidence-based project development and management of the infant nutrition programme including monitoring and evaluation; including Breastfeeding Friendly Greenwich. To provide training, education and supporting in line with national and local programmes. As an infant nutrition advisor, you must have substantial experience of effective partnership working across agencies in statutory and/or voluntary sector; planning, implementing and evaluating relevant health programmes; and working with disadvantaged communities with diverse needs (in a voluntary or paid capacity), including working effectively with families. You must also have a recognised and relevant qualification and training in health, public health or early years. This is a 12 month fixed term part time (3 days per week) position.
