Representation of programs in State is to lead, provide overall leadership, supervision and management to the team for carrying out Room to Read’s Programs in the targeted district under State Office. S/he will contribute to the development and strengthening of a country program in provinces. Strengthen coordination and collaboration within teams and across all program teams, maintain and ensure constructive communication, build team morale within individual teams and within the organization, contribute to a positive working environment. This position requires skills in project management, training, program/curriculum development, and networking. This position will report to the Sr. Manager – Program Operations and will have various positions reporting to him/her. Room to Read is a child safe organisation. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Program Lead situation analysis within the State for identifying and prioritizing development needs in the context of Education. Develop strategic and operational plans, annual budget plan for the state and contributing for development of India Country Strategy Paper Participate in any other activities, which may be required to be undertaken to fulfill the objectives of the organization. Organize and oversee the complete process of setting up the Room To Read in the entire state responsible for. Ensure efficient implementation of each of the programs. This includes ensuring routine monitoring by the Program Officers, Program Associates and facilitate the process. Ensure proper documentation of implementation processes in the State. Analyze and assess applications and/or proposals received from schools and/or partners that are in need and meet all our criteria of the program. Finalize a list of program sites and formulate strategies for implementation. Visit program sites as needed to supervise the site and organize discussions with the school management team and local authorities. Gather feedback and ensure that they deliver on their portion of the program and on all terms of agreement with Room to Read. Government/NGOs relationship Promote and protect the reputation of Room to Read in external settings, ensuring that the organization’s experience and expertise is well communicated and consistently presented, and that we are looked to as a professional Education organization. Liaison with NGO Partner and Government Agencies. It include; Periodic meetings with partners Regular updating the Government about Room to Read initiatives, particularly if an MoU is signed with that particular government. Management Develop Monthly report and Quarterly report to Government, Program Operations Director and Sr. Manager – Program Operations. Submit Monthly management progress report of the Field Office to Sr. Manager – Program Operations in a timely manner Capacity building Ensure regularly staff performance coaching - Quarterly Conduct staff training need assessment and seek opportunity for staff capacity building based on needs. Admin/Finance Ensure field office functioning smoothly and effectively Coordinate recruitment for the staff office under the overall guidance from Country Office Approve expenditure for program activity Prepare detailed cost estimations for each project, specifying each school’s and/or NGO partner’s cost-sharing contribution and items contributed for the respective program. Qualification & Experience: Required: Master’s in Education/ social sciences/Social Work or equivalent Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with 2+ years of management experience Prior experience of community engagement/ mobilization activities Awareness about life skills, language and reading practices and approaches Strong oral and written communication skills Open to travel within and outside the state Efficient with MS office and basic data analysis using excel Compensation: The salary range for this position will be determined based upon the experience of the candidate hired.
