Position Type: Hourly Positions Date Posted: 3/5/2020 Location: Administration - Human Resources ROCKFORD PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT #205 Job Description Job Title: Human Resources Summer Intern Department: Human Resources Supervisor: Talent Acquisition Manager Date: January 8, 2019 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Will be serving under the direction of his/her designated supervisor on a temporary basis to assist with special projects primarily in Talent Acquisition. The designated supervisor will assist with developing objectives and guidelines. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.. Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission. statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan. Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. Assist the talent team with new hire onboarding appointments, performing such tasks as: Facilitating presentations Fingerprinting/background check Drug screen authorization Issuing badges Other State and Federally mandated forms Communicates with Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers regarding hiring process activities. Provide support with the maintenance of historical records/personnel files. Supports Talent Acquisition team with job offers. Maintain security of confidential information. Answer incoming department phone calls when call volume is excessive. Participates in team training initiatives. Supports additional areas of Human Resources as needed. QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree or equivalent and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws preferred. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to work independently with little supervision as required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: Perform assigned tasks efficiently as assigned by Human Resources and will be evaluated based on the standards established by the Student’s academic program.
