Financial Analyst (ECG) Education Canada Group, parent company of Robertson Colleges is seeking a Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the Controller and CFO to ensure accurate and timely production of financial information. The Financial Analyst will assist in the month-end close process, variance analysis, forecasting and budget preparation. They will also liaise closely with the data analytics and operational teams to provide data driven analysis of business performance. Responsibilities Assist / review with the Controller and CFO as required to ensure accurate & timely presentation of monthly financial statements, can include: month end journal entries, including (but not limited to) Prepaid expenses Capital Assets Inventory Revenue Recognition variance analysis (actual vs budget, vs forecast, vs last year) monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts bank reconciliations bad debt accruals and bad debt write offs Assist with forecasting Maintain and improve existing forecasts for a variety of financial & non financial KPI’s, including: Weekly Cash Flow forecast Revenue & Start forecast Payroll forecast Monthly Financial forecast Develop new forecasts for a variety of financial & non financial KPI’s to assist key decision makers Develop excel models used to analyze actual results and forecast future results Assist with the annual budget process Other tasks in conjunction with the Controller and CFO can include: the year end audit, ensuring accuracy of information and providing necessary info to auditors ministry compliance related reports Work with Campus Directors and Executive Team on day to day accounting needs CRA filings Ad hoc requests Work closely with the Controller and CFO to improve accounting and banking processes Requirements Proven working experience as a finance analyst Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications, and data analytics software, particularly Microsoft Dynamics GP and Microsoft Power BI Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis Relevant University degree and / or accounting designation Interest applicants will forward their Resume and Cover Letter by March 23, 2020 We thank all applicants but only those invited for an interview will be contacted, Benefits: Extended health care Disability insurance Dental care Life insurance Job Type: Permanent Experience: accounting / financial analyst: 4 years (Required) Education: Secondary School (Required) Licence: accounting / finance (Preferred)
