The Marketing Copywriter will write creative marketing copy for the purpose of persuasively selling Rice Lake products and services, transforming technical content into relevant, meaningful information for a variety of audiences. Works with project managers and design staff to create engaging content for websites, product literature, press releases, ads, articles, letters, catalogs and other marketing-related needs. Works with other members of the marketing department to initiate creative visual and copy ideas. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS Discussing core message and target audience with stakeholders. Understanding of customer needs and perspective, gathering information as necessary to achieve project goals. Brainstorming visual and copy ideas with other members of the creative team. Writing and presenting options to stakeholders, modifying copy until all stakeholders are satisfied. Writes and develops a wide array of copy for print, presentations, websites, multimedia and more, including letters, application briefs, product information, press releases and other documents for all product lines as necessary. Responsible for developing effective marketing copy that builds on our established company image and directly influences customers and prospects to purchase company products. Includes working with Marketing, Product Management, Sales and Engineering departments to define required information and format. Seeks out training or researches to understand technical concepts, topics, industry practices and product information as necessary. Proofreads and edits a variety of documentation and internally produced materials. Supports custom documentation requirements for all product lines in accordance with established company standards for content, presentation and speed to market. Supports the company’s presence on the website with copy and product positioning. Education and Experience BA in English, Communications, Marketing or related field, or 2-5 years of proven copy writing experience. Skills Ability to produce clear, concise and grammatically correct copy Proofreading Be highly creative and imaginative Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills Works well in a team Ability to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively Detail oriented Organized Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications, Adobe CS5 and the ability to pick-up new technology as needed Certificates, licenses, training, or other job-related requirements.
