As a new member of the RevMed team, you will join other outstanding scientists who are helping lead our efforts in the discovery and development of new medicines for unmet needs in cancer. Opportunity Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Principal Accounting Officer, the ideal candidate will lead the Company’s growing accounting team, including the financial close process, technical accounting, external reporting, tax, accounts payable, payroll and stock plan administration functions. The ideal candidate will: Play instrumental role in building out the accounting and external reporting functions Manage, develop and mentor accounting team Lead the company’s collaboration with external auditors Lead monthly close and quarter-end accounting cycles, and respective calendars Lead technical accounting research and documentation (with help of external consultants as needed) Review revenue recognition accounting for collaborations Review clinical trial accounting for multiple clinical trials Prepare intangible asset and goodwill impairment analyses Implement and improve processes in conjunction with internal control environment/SOX 404 build-out with assistance from external expert service providers Lead interactions with external tax advisors Oversee upgrades and implementations of accounting software Review journal entries and reconciliations Prepare periodic and quarterly filings Ad hoc projects, as needed Required Skills Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting with strong understanding of GAAP and big 4 experience Experience supporting and leading annual financial audits Experience with accounting software and other financial systems Proven leadership skills and the desire to lead and build-out the accounting department Ability to effectively and collaboratively work cross-functionally with demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize options, anticipate challenges, and execute on corporate goals Strong analytical and advanced excel skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills Biotechnology industry experience preferred and an innovative team-player with enthusiasm for our small company environment
