Position Summary The Scientific Researcher will be responsible for development of the cell-based potency assay and support other ongoing R&D projects. The candidate will team up with scientists to work on stable cell line generation, assay development and optimization. Work on investigating mechanism of action of novel neuromodulators. Participate in teams responsible for troubleshooting existing assays and demonstrate good judgment of tools and processes for obtaining solutions. Lend support to the characterization efforts for Revance products and support development activities occurring within other groups at Revance. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Performing biochemical and molecular analysis (i.e. Western blot, ELISA) Developing and optimizing cell-based assays for drug potency and mechanism of action investigation Participate in method development, qualification and validation. Ownership of the writing of development reports and test methods. Research relevant scientific literature to aid in experimental design. Education Minimum Required: BS in Biology or related discipline Preferred: MS in Biology or related discipline Experience Minimum Required: 2+ years in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry Preferred: 5+ years in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Minimum Required: Advanced experience in the development, and optimization of assays, solid technical training and troubleshooting experiences are required. Advanced experience in cell culture, cell-based assays, molecular biology and biochemical assays. Knowledgeable experience in one or more of the following assay disciplines: neuronal cell culture, fluorescent microscopy, ELISA, Western Blot, cell-based drug potency assays. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a team-oriented environment. Ability to work independently as well as within a team, handle multiple projects, demonstrate initiative and accountability, and strong attention to detail. Proficient written, verbal communication skills. Preferred: Willingness to learn new techniques, such as induced pluripotent stem cell culture and neuronal differentiation. Experience in mammalian protein expression and purification is a plus. Experience in enzyme kinetics is a plus.
