Salary: £20k + excellent benefits Redactive Media Group is looking for a talented news reporter to join Public Finance. The magazine and website for public sector accountants covers everything from local government funding, NHS reform, public sector pay and pensions, austerity and the impact of Brexit on public services. As a reporter, you will be sourcing, researching and writing daily online news stories, chiefly for the PF website and magazine. You will sometimes be required to provide stories for our international sister site, Public Finance Focus. There will also be opportunities to write longer pieces for the print publication and website. Redactive is a contract publisher, and as such the role may require some client liaison. You will also be involved in helping build readership for the websites and promoting content via social media. A knowledge of or interest in politics and public policy, and some understanding of public services and how they are managed and funded, would be a definite plus. You will need to have the confidence to get to grips with occasionally complex legislative and financial issues and be comfortable interviewing senior figures, such as government ministers and chief executives. The ideal candidate will have / be: a journalism qualification or equivalent relevant experience some experience reporting on relevant issues a demonstrable interest in politics and public policy fast and accurate news writer a flexible team player Computer and web literacy is essential and some experience using content management systems would be a distinct advantage.
