Red Rooster began when the Kailis family opened the Kelmscott restaurant in Western Australia in 1972. From its humble beginning it has grown to become Australia's largest roast chicken operator. Red Rooster has been serving Australia's favourite roast chicken since 1972 and we are committed to providing you with high quality food and all the information you need to make decisions for a healthy, balanced diet. The business grew as a privately owned and operated business until the early 80's when it was purchased by Coles Myer Ltd. In May 2002, Perth based Australian Fast Foods acquired Red Rooster from Coles Myer Ltd, bringing many years experience and expertise in the roast chicken category. As part of a management buy out (sponsored by Quadrant Private Equity), Quick Service Restaraunt Holdings (QSRH) aquires AFF, including Red Rooster. Red Rooster adds Free Range burgers, baguettes and wraps to its permanent menu. Today Red Rooster operates over 360 stores across Australia and employs over 7,500 staff. While plenty has changed over the years, Red Rooster is still the takeaway you don’t have to think twice about!
