Responsibilities: Support the company’s legal team and businesses in the Singapore office. Develop a strong understanding of the company’s and group’s business activities, corporate governance and structure, and the company’s roles within the group. Develop a strong relationship with internal business clients and provide general legal and corporate governance advice on the day-to-day operations to the company and its business units while advancing business interest. A significant proportion of the work will be centred on the company’s or group’s operations and business activities. Handle contractual documentation including operational, employment, tax and intellectual property issues. Review, set up and improve agreements and existing processes, guidelines and documentation. Perform general corporate and legal housekeeping; Identify and manage legal risks, litigation and disputes. To liaise with and manage external counsels. Provide internal training on legal and compliance subjects. Based in Singapore, with occasional requirement to travel depending on work demands. Qualifications: Be a qualified lawyer in at least one of the following jurisdictions: Singapore, Japan, New York or California. Have at least 1-5 years of relevant legal experience gained at a reputable law firm and/or as in-house lawyer with exposure to the Asia region. Experience in at least one or more of the following industries or business areas would be advantageous: technology, SASS, advertising, M&A. English fluency is required. Proficiency in Japanese would be advantageous. Able to respond to the demands of a fast-paced industry, multi-task and adapt to an international climate. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to follow instructions effectively, and possess strong critical thinking and complex problem solving skills. Must possess a proactive hands-on attitude, be patient and have an eye for detail. Must be a self-motivated who can work both independently or in a team environment.
