Roles & Responsibilities The IT Engineer - Incident Response Analyst is responsible for analyzing security events, conducting incident response, and completing forensic investigations of infected media. The IR Analyst works within the Cyber Defense function, which is responsible protecting Rockwell’s security globally across a mix of cloud, on-premise, and manufacturing networks. Key Responsibilities: Conduct triage of cybersecurity incidents based off criticality Provide analysis of escalated incidents to determine if it is a true or false positive event Develop and conduct remediation activities in response to new malware techniques Develop, research, and maintain proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends related to malware analysis, incident response, and forensics Identify root cause of cybersecurity incidents Provide disk level Forensic Examinations to support Global Investigative Efforts. Strong understanding of Forensic Imaging Techniques Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Security, related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 4 to 5 years professional experience. Experience and training in the use of EnCase, FTK, X-Ways or Other Computer Forensic Tools Experience and training in log analysis, using tools such as Splunk or Crowd Strike. A strong understanding of Windows based systems Outstanding communication, organization, writing, and problem solving skills. An understanding of common networking protocols, such as HTTP, DNS, TLS An understanding of malicious code infection vectors and detection techniques Willingness to be placed on "on-call" rotations with fellow team members. Desired Qualifications Master’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Security, related field or equivalent experience. Forensic certifications such as CFCE, EnCE, and ACE strongly desired. A strong understanding of Mac OS and Linux based systems. Knowledge of a programming or scripting language, preferably Python and Powershell Experience with Threat Hunting Prior Security Operations Center experience Experience with conducting complex Digital Forensics Examinations that have been successfully presented in a court of law. Security certifications such as Security+, GSEC, CISSP, OSCP
