Contract type Permanent Hours Full Time Location description This role will be based at an RNLI asset within the region About us Our purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning. We’re looking for a Coastal Estates Engineer to join our Engineering and Supply Team. Some of the benefits Salary £35,993 - £42,345 (dependent on experience) Flexible working 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays Outstanding pension scheme (contributions of up to 16% of basic salary) Life assurance Health and dental cashplan Your Role As a Coastal Estates Engineer, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas: To undertake condition inspections, prepare reports and recommend maintenance/modification works as necessary to ensure they are compliant with current legislation, RNLI policies/performance requirements and remain safe and operational at all times. To identify requirements for specialist inspections and assessments, evaluate technical reports and recommend maintenance and modification works as necessary. To prepare specifications, schedules and other tender documentation arising out of condition inspections, specialist assessment or in line with the Regional Estates Strategy and manage the subsequent projects ensuring the RNLI discharges all duties under the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 and/or the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013, contract management, seeking statutory permissions and engagement with internal or external stakeholders such as Local Authorities, Building Control, Marine Management Organisation and the Environment Agency as required. To manage the annual programme of Lifeguard unit movements including delivery of new assets within CEE Area as tasked by the Regional Estates Manager, to include contract preparation and supervision, obtaining planning and/or landowner permission, building regulation consent and engagement with internal or external stakeholders. About You To be considered as the Coastal Estates Engineer you will need: Extensive practical experience of managing buildings and construction/ maintenance works at a professional level, ideally in a maritime environment.
