The DVP of Finance Planning and Analysis contributes to REI’s success through providing strong financial thought-leadership and influence across the co-op. This DVP plays a key role in influencing the future success of the co-op from a financial and strategic lens, directly supports senior management, maintains strong cross-divisional partnerships and fosters fact-and financial-based decision making for the co-op. This DVP hires and develops a highly successful Financial Planning and Analysis Leadership Team who have the capabilities of providing timely, convincing, relevant and sound strategic and financial information and support across REI. This DVP has a broad impact across the organization, through leadership and accountability for the annual budgeting and long-term financial planning processes, ongoing accurate financial forecasting and finance support of business decisions. This DVP and team provide influence and support of the prioritization of capital investments. The DVP also provides support for the Audit and Finance Committee and Board of Director meetings. This position requires a seasoned finance leader who consistently exhibits a high degree of executive presence within the organization, industry and community. This role requires proven senior leadership skills guiding, influencing and advocating for financially-prudent investments that effectively balance the company’s strategic goals and objectives. This position includes enterprise-wide special projects, duties and initiatives as assigned. Models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission. As a member of the Leadership Forum, develops a deep understanding of, effectively communicates and broadly supports execution of company strategies and priorities. Translates company strategies into actionable divisional plans and executes successful delivery. Works cross-divisionally to drive execution of specific divisional and company strategies, initiatives and projects. Challenges and inspires directors, managers and employees to achieve business results. Provides vision, coaching, development opportunities, direction and leadership to employees in order to achieve department, company and customer results. Monitors operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues, and takes appropriate action. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the budget and long-term financial plan supporting the REI Strategic Plan, ensuring senior leadership understanding and alignment Lead, communicate and effectively implement changes to the corporate budget and forecasting processes to support REI’s evolving business needs Lead the assessment and prioritization of enterprise-wide investments, including leading the team in building effective processes and tools for business case development. Effectively build strong finance and cross-divisional relationships Develop and execute monthly financial reviews, and partner with strategic planning team to execute quarterly business and initiative reviews; communicate findings to senior management on all Oversee the financial analysis of major company initiatives including associated costs and benefits and the analysis/communication of post implementation results Accountable for meaningful, timely and reliable financial reporting and financial forecasts Develop consulting relationship with Senior Leaders and provide strong financial support of business reviews and decisions. Ensure that all divisions receive appropriate and effective finance support. Bring your passion and expertise 10-15 years of financial planning and analysis experience in large, multi-division company; minimum of 5 years experience in finance senior leadership role Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or Accounting; MBA, CFA or similar certification preferred Ability to use business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with Board of Directors and senior management. Ability to act as a change agent. Drive transformational change, sponsor change initiatives and enable others to innovate. Foster a continuous improvement mindset. Proven success executing a corporate-wide budget process, as well as an effective and efficient quarterly forecasting process. Strong understanding of corporate strategic planning process. Ability to build effective, compelling business cases supporting long term investments. Demonstrated effective leadership and interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships at all levels of the organization, within and outside of finance, while creating a culture of accountability. Ability to build strong teams and effectively leverage the expertise of all teammates through effective employee development, involvement, communication, and supervision efforts. Establishes trust and inspires others. Knowledge of retail, consumer products or digital commerce industries.
