Roles & Responsibilities The IT Systems Administrator supports the maintenance and integrity of the operating system environment and a variety of computer systems, optimizing uptime, performance, resources, and security to serve the needs of the organization and its end users. S/he is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of various computer systems. S/he administers, installs and troubleshoots a variety of operating systems; performs systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery and file maintenance; schedules, installs, and tests system software upgrades; configures software and resolves technical problems; and monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements.
