This position is an entry level position that is primarily responsible for assisting upper management, project management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, engineering, and lead field project controls with budgeting and reporting from the Denver home office. These activities include but are not limited to project planning, scheduling, budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, progress reporting, cost control analysis, forecasting, contingency management and reporting for all projects within their respective business unit. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES: Proficiency and/or Mastery of Excel, MS Office, Primavera and/or MS Project, Ecosys, Viewpoint, and Document Control programs Good communication skills to deal with owners and employees. Possess a solid understanding of job costing. Ability to read and understand prints and contract documents. Knows and understand the required federal and state codes for the project. Tolerance for 0% - 25% of travel, office mobility, and challenging weather conditions Self-disciplined, motivated, able to work with limited direct supervision, self-sufficient problem solver Able to quickly adjust to changing priorities, assimilate directives with little guidance, take initiative Attention to detail, constant process improvement vigilance, and meet diligent deliverable deadlines. An unwavering dedication to continual process improvement The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for ensuring the completion and issuance of all required monthly and quarterly financial reports for his or her assigned projects.These reports include but aren’t limited to Key Project Reports, Risk Registers, Contingency Draw-down Registers, Pending Change Order Logs, Key Project Financial Reports, Outstanding AP, Outstanding AR, BIE, CIE, Cost Flow, Cash Flow, Production, Productivity, CPI’s, Contract Milestones, and Billings The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for ensuring that their assigned projects are adhering to all Contract Management and Revenue Recognition SOX controls as defined in the Company’s SOX narratives. The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all Project Control’s deliverables are completed, and deadlines met within his or her projects. Accounting functions will include creating accounts receivable billings for customers, reviewing, coding invoices, and approving invoices, assist procurement, engineers and subcontracts with creating, coding, and approving PO’s and subcontracts in Viewpoint. Assist PM’s, Directors, VP’s, and PCM with special reports, requests or analysis Hold weekly and monthly meetings Learn and cover for field project controls responsibilities Work with Field Engineers and Timekeeper to ensure valid and accurate man hours are reported daily Work with Field Engineers to ensure valid and accurate quantities are reported daily, monitor daily productivity and planned percent complete May at times visit project sites to support project management and field operations. It is also an expectation that all Project Controls Specialist will look after and operate in the best interest of PSC. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: A four (4) year degree or global equivalent in Construction Management, Electrical/Civil/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Accounting/Finance, Project Management. Preference given for experience in Solar, Renewable Energy or Power Generation.
