Quality People, Quality Results **NOTE** Primaris is continuously recruiting abstractors to assist with ongoing contracts, therefore, your application may not be processed until the need for abstractors with certain certification(s) arises. This position performs medical record abstractions for a variety of Cardio-Vascular quality measure registries such as STS - Society of Thoracic Surgeons, ACD - Adult Cardiac Surgery Database (ACD) and ICD - Implantable Cardiovertrer Defibrillator and quality reporting programs and registries as well as other data as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Candidates should have direct experience with the respective Cardio-Vascular measures. Preferably have experience working with electronic health/medical records, working remotely and following technical specifications to perform reviews. Demonstrates strong communication skills; documentation; organizing and planning skills Familiar with documentation practices and standard healthcare quality concepts Work from Home Flexible hours All computer equipment required will be provided by Primaris Candidates should have relevant skills, credentials and experience below under each measure. STS- Society of Thoracic Surgeons (Adult cardiac Database, General Thoracic Database and Congenital Heart Database are the three major components of the STS and provide valuable information on surgical outcomes) Experience entering data into the STS Registry. Registered Nurse preferrred Experience working with cardiothoracic surgery patients Intermacs database and/or ACC TVT registry experience a plus ACD – Adult Cardiac Surgery Database (a subset of the STS) Experience entering data into the STS Registry. Registered Nurse preferred Experience working with cardiothoracic surgery patients ICD – Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator Registered Nurse preferred Experience working on a cardiac or cardiopulmonary floor Familiar with ICD procedures and equipment Experience working with the NCDR, ACTION, ICD, IMPACT and LAAO registries a plus Search relevant online question and answer databases, such as those made available by CMS, the Joint Commission, or registries, to resolve unclear documentation scenarios; utilize other abstraction resources such as appropriate listservs. Refer abstraction questions to Program Manager or Director as needed. Accurately enter abstraction results into applicable data entry tools designated by the organization. Complete review and data entry within assigned timelines. Work withProgram Manager and Director to ensure all record abstraction deadlines are met. Alter work schedule based on workload requirements. Modify assigned abstractions based on feedback provided by inter-rater reliability review or other reviews by Program Manager or Director. Independently review criteria for areas where a pattern or trend in data mismatch has occurred. Request additional education/training as needed. Abide by the established security and confidentiality policies and procedures. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Education and/or Experience Minimum of twelve months of Quality Measure or other medical record abstraction experience required. Experience with multiple Quality Measures or Registries is preferred. Knowledge of healthcare practices, medical terminology, and treatment modalities required. Experience with performance improvement processes and utilization management desired. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or other comparable healthcare degree/license required. Primaris provides medical record abstraction for a wide range of quality measures including MACRA/MIPS, hospital inpatient and outpatient, physician individual and group, and multiple clinical registries or other specific training, certification or other requirements based on the specific type of abstraction to be done.
