Senior Human Resource Generalist Primary Purpose of Position: Priestly Demolition Inc. (PDI) is looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about Human Resources with more than 4 years of experience in the construction industry! The position is located at our head office in King, Ontario and will report to the Human Resources Manager. In this position, the Senior Human Resources Generalist must perform a range of duties supporting employees, managers and the HR team within their direct client groups. The duties consist of benefit claims, policies, training & development, employee relations, performance management and supporting with other HR programs. The Sr. HR Generalist provides resolutions and consulting in the above areas to ensure profitable business operations. Priestly’s hiring philosophy is based on culture, collaboration and then skills. Job Duties Provide generalist HR support to direct client groups Communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations. Administer and educate employees of Group benefits and pension to maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers. Incident management and administering progressive discipline. Ensure effective exit interviews and provide management with recommendations. Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations) Coordinate client specific security and medical screening, as per our clients needs. Administer and record employee safety recognition programs. Recommend, develop and maintain human resource databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems. Develop and provide recommendations for policies and processes. Administer and track performance management. Manage HRIS and online training platforms. Provide research as requested. Develop job descriptions. Prepare, distribute, collect and file various administrative updates and legally required paperwork. Plan, organize and attend recruitment fairs as requested. Support with the and organize staff events and recreational activities. Organize and coordinate various HR driven employee programs (e.g. HR newsletter, Employee Assistance Program) Manage employee Return to Work program and WSIB claims management. Administer apprenticeship application process. Provide general information and assistance internally and externally over the phone, electronically and in person. Complete other duties and projects as assigned. Requirements Post-Secondary degree in Human Resources Management required or equivalent experience. Minimum 4 years of work experience in HR required. Experience in the Construction industry preferred. Experience working in a unionized environment. Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues related to regulations, laws and policies. Ability to develop and implement strategies. Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization, while dealing with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times. Presentation skills required. Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently. Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail required. Excellent time and project management skills. Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures Motivated individual with proven initiative.
