Job Profile: The Human Resources Manager, under the direction of the General Manager, is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the Human Resources department. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, staff development, employee retention, succession planning and total compensation. Primary Responsibilities: · Provide support to departments in all areas of HR · Oversee personnel management including wage increases, promotions and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies · Act as resource for employee questions and concerns · Ensure that all employees comply with company policies, procedures and ethical standards · Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations and employee development · Determine areas of improvement for employees, providing additional training as needed · Oversee & maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data · Assist in the development and maintenance of HR policies, programs and practices · Develop training programs that are based on regulatory requirements and best practices · Conduct workplace investigations and resolve any conflicts that arise · Manage and consult on all HR programs including employee relations, performance management, staff development, employee retention, succession planning and total compensation · Oversee the administration of the benefits plan including enrollments, claims and communications · Monitor assigned payroll activities performed by HR Coordinator · Plan Human Resources requirements in conjunction with other departmental managers · In consultation with Department Heads, manage full cycle recruitments (job posting, sourcing candidates, interviews, reference checks, employment offers) · Employee on-boarding and off-boarding · Conduct market evaluations to update and maintain internal wage bands · Perform other duties as assigned General Expectations: · Follow prescribed safety standards, rules and regulations, ensuring all workers comply · Instill a safety culture; lead by example · Participate in continuous improvement initiatives · Maintain a well-organized and clean facility as per Prairie Machine vision · Maintain a healthy work environment and develop employees on a professional level Qualifications: · Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent (proven work experience will be considered) · 2-3 years of related experience · Certified in Human Resources Management by a provincial governing body (CPHR) considered an asset · Solid understanding of all related legislation and regulations · Strong interpersonal & organizational skills · Ability to maintain & manage confidential information · Demonstrated ability to manage HR core processes · Experience with MS Office, HRIS Prairie Machine is committed to providing a positive corporate culture that supports the personal growth and development of its employees.
