Role We are looking for a Junior Financial Crime Analyst to join our financial crime team to assist in protecting the business from threat of money laundering and terrorist financing. You will have relevant experience working within the field and a passion to improve systems to mitigate risks. Reporting to the Head of compliance, you will be proactive in analysis data to identify trends, as well as the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines whilst delivering to a high standard. You will also have a sound understanding of AML regulation with knowledge of e-money and Payment service regulation an advantage. Requirements Responsibilities To conduct in-depth investigations into instances of suspicious activity to identify instances of fraud, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing; To be a point of contact for 3rd parties reporting instances of suspicious activity to Pockit; To review transaction monitoring alerts for incoming and outgoing payments and transactions to identify unusual and suspicious activity; To conduct sanctions screening on outbound payments and remittances; To look for continual improvements within financial crime systems to improve accuracy and efficiency; Continuously assess the effectiveness of our financial crime controls to ensure our approach is proportionate to meeting our regulatory and commercial objectives; To be able to work under pressure whilst achieving a high quality of work; To have upto date knowledge of AML and CTF regulation; To be proactively analysing alerts to identify new crime trends and suggest improvements in systems to mitigate the risks posed; To be able to make risk-based decisions on customer activity and make appropriate recommendations for actions to take on customer accounts; To raise instances of suspicious activity to the MLRO to allow for regulatory reporting to be completed; Achieve team KPI’s and Meeting SLAs; To assist with ad hoc requests provided by the financial crime manager and MLRO. We're looking for someone ticking all or most of these boxes: University Graduate with a keen interest in Financial Crime and FinTech Belief in Pockit’s mission to end financial exclusion; Sound understanding of UK and EU AML and CTF regulation as well as e-money regulation and Payment Services Regulation; Previous experience working within a financial crime role; Strong numerical analysis skills and the ability to interrogate data using SQL.
