Our client, a leading financial institution, is looking for an IT Data Protection Director for their Asia business. This role would establish the risk mitigation and controls on Data Protection and Security. Responsibilities: – Lead the definition of the enterprise data protection strategies which support and align with the firm’s vision and objectives. – Provide technical advisory for senior technology management on Information and Data Management strategies. – Establish and maintain core data models, information standard and data management lifecycle controls. – Lead the IT Data Protection programme across Asia. – Establish IT Data Protection standards and practices. – Assist and Engage with the Data Engineering and Applications Teams to steer application of the Information Architecture standards and frameworks, considering data movement and data residency regulations. Requirements: – At least 10 years’ working experience in the IT Data Risk and Control space in the financial industry. – Proven experience in establishing a data governance model and framework. – Extensive experience in data protection including application security, data leakage protection, unstructured data management, data life-cycle management, etc. – Strong project management skills in managing IT Data Protection solution implementation and delivery projects. – Exposure on a regional role be a great plus. – Strategic thinking and communication, which able to coach and lead all levels of people. – Strong leadership and influencing skills. – Bachelor or Master’s degree from a reputable University. – Excellent communication skills in English.
