About the team Penrith City Council is the largest Local Government provider of Children Services in NSW, with more than 44 child care services annually catering for 4000 children. Committed to providing Children's Services programs for the benefit of families and children across the City, we offer a variety of child care services including Long Day Care, Vacation and Out of School Hours Care, Preschools and a Mobile Playvan and are at the leading edge of implementing curriculum for the intellectual, social and physical development of the children within our care. About the role We have exciting Permanent, Temporary and Casual opportunities for Child Care Assistants to join one of our not for profit Out of School Hours Child Care Services and Long Day Care or Preschool that either exceed or meet national quality education standards. The Out of School Hours range from but are not limited to 6am to 9:30am and 2:30pm to 6:30pm. In this role you will be able to support our dedicated educational leaders in coordinating activities and programs to create a stimulating learning environment for our developing children. Your exceptional communication and team work skills will enable you to efficiently interact with the children, parents and staff. Your previous centre based experience would put you in good stead to implement the curriculum for children ranging from 0 to 12 years. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and work well in a diverse team environment. The criteria to be addressed in your application is below: Essential Criteria Completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework Experience working with children 0-12 years or working in a Long Day Care Centre and/or Before and After School Care Service Proven communication and team skills Valid NSW Working with Children Check Current First Aid Certificate Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate Desirable Criteria Experience in caring for children with disabilities/additional needs Current LR Driver Licence Child Protection Certificate (Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk) Commencing Salary: From $26.26 per hour or $51,900.00 per annum plus 9.5% Superannuation This position has been identified as a Child-Related position under Child Protection laws in NSW.
