SALARY: £21,210.00 PER ANNUM We are recruiting for a full time Lead Support Worker to work in a brand-new service in St Albans. You will be support two young ladies with learning disabilities, one who also has autism, who will share a home together. As Lead Support Worker you will be assisting the Locality Manager by working on shift providing day to day support to the staff team. The role will include assisting the staff to deliver excellent person-centred support via supervisions, positive role modelling, team meetings, observations and their own consistent support on a 1:1 basis. They are both very active, have many hobbies and interests and both have part time jobs. One young lady is a keen horse rider and an animal lover. She also enjoys going swimming, spending time at an allotment, going to church, playing the saxophone and enjoys doing arts and crafts. The other young lady enjoys having her hair and nails done, going shopping and listening to music. She also enjoys arts and crafts, going to the cinema and watching films, her favourite genre is horror. A key part of the support workers role is to understand the people you are supporting, which will include providing practical and emotional support. This post is only available to female applicants as permitted under the Equality Act 2010 Applicants must have minimum of 1 years’ experience of providing person centred support to people with learning disabilities and/or Autism be able to demonstrate the following personal qualities and skills: Drive and passion Patience, confidence and integrity Ability to motivate and foster good relationships amongst the staff team Effective communication skills and to be able to get on with a wide range of people To be able to undertake some administrative tasks in a timely and organised manner The ability to be consistent and follow agreements, the support plan and policy at all times The ability to identify risks and communicate concerns appropriately Able to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings and sleep-ins Able to participate in the 1st Level on-call system over set weekends.
