General Description: The VP of Engineering’s role is primarily to work with the executive team to develop and achieve the company’s strategic direction. The person must have the ability to recognize situations, develop plans, and execute them to achieve the best company outcome. The VP of Engineering is responsible for engineering, quality and safety for all of Parkson Corporation, which includes Meurer Research Inc. (MRI). Many of the ‘Doer’ skills and abilities listed are given as they are needed for the person to be able to understand the technical details of a situation and evaluate the performance of the team. At times the VP may have to assist the team in completing complex projects. Education and/or Experience: Required: Two-year Technology Degree in Mechanical or Electrical as appropriate with at least 25 years of experience. Preferred: Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical as appropriate with at least 15 years of experience.
