TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR Are you looking for a dependable, innovative and challenging job? With several thousand projects completed since 2004, we have an excellent reputation as both a contractor and employer. We are seeking a Transportation Supervisor based in the Edmonton/Acheson area. In this role your main duties and responsibilities will be: Coaching, mentoring and training in areas of transport legislation, safety and Paradox Access Solutions corporate standards Demonstrate a full understanding of the national safety code, provincial and federal legislation. Maintain, monitor and update the Commercial Transportation Safety Maintenance and Inspection Program to ensure transport compliance with regulations. Ensure driver safety through hours of service compliance and the use of the in-vehicle monitoring system (Samsara). Responsible for the completion of annual Carrier Assessments and on-site audits on regular, defined intervals. Ensure compliance and adherence to all initiatives, corporate policies, safety policies and procedures. Ensure updated or new policies, procedures and protocols are properly communicated and implemented. Monitor and follow-up on the completion of orientation and on boarding training/ticket requirements. Primary point of contact for all internal and 3rd party truck drivers for planning and dispatching loads. Manage profitability by proactively planning the most cost effective and efficient loads. Review and approve 3rd party trucking invoices. Develop and manage strong relationships with key transportation providers to ensure the most cost-effective movement of materials while providing excellent customer service. Ensure all health, safety and environmental incidents are recorded, aid in the analysis of the root cause and the actions taken to ensure there are no repeats offenses or incidents. Coordinate the negotiation for all freight rates and look for opportunities to continue to growth. Regularly analyze logistics trends and supply chain to identify opportunities to lower costs and improve Paradox’s competitiveness and improve delivery performance. Influence changes with carriers to correct issues, solve problems, enhance business and ensure continuous improvement in line with Paradox’s expectations. Responsible to periodically audit freight invoices to ensure that all freight is being moved with the right carrier at the correct rate. Ability to work independently or as a team to handle multiply projects and deadlines. Supporting our operations teams by providing specialized technical service to our customers. As a successful candidate for this position, you will have/be: Minimum of 5+ year experience in transportation industry. Class 1 drivers License would be an asset. Demonstrated leadership qualities, able to engage and influence team and external partners Background in servicing mining, oil/gas and other industries would be beneficial. Ability to work independently and handle pressure. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, presentation and problem-solving skills. A willingness to travel overnight for short periods of time. Provide problem solving assistance and guidance including after hours and weekend coverage.
