About Paddy Power

Role Title: Customer Service Team Leader Team: Operations Department: UK Retail Reporting Relationship: Shop Manager Location: UK What part do you play in Paddy’s Success? As a Customer Service Team Leader you are the first point of contact with our customers; you are there to meet and greet them, providing them with exceptional levels of customer service. You are also trained to be a Duty Manager, responsible for all shop operations including opening and closing procedures and act as the senior member of the team in the absence of the Shop Manager or Assistant Manager. There’s no doubt that this experience will give you the skills and knowledge to help you throughout your Paddy Power Journey. It’s a role with plenty of variety where you are constantly learning something new and at any time could be answering customer questions, taking bets, informing customers about our latest products and promotions, and driving loyalty by taking your regular customers their favourite hot drink, whilst chatting to them about their big betting fancy that day. It’s a committed role, full of everyday challenges, but that’s what makes it so exciting! How do you do this? You naturally love talking and getting to know people, and will be able to effortlessly engage your customers in conversation from both behind the counter and on the shop floor. You can stay calm and composed in difficult situations, and are constantly looking for ways to improve yourself and the shop. You are comfortable working by yourself or in a team, and taking responsibility for all customer queries and operational processes when needed. You always know Paddy’s latest products and promotions, and communicate this effectively to your customers. As you start to get more management experience, you’ll begin to develop and learn how to work with and manage other people. And don’t worry if you’ve never worked in the betting industry before, by the end of your best in class induction and on boarding, and with the help of our experience Shop Teams you’ll come to know all the lingo and will feel confident to get on with what you do best – serving customers! How to be successful – the nuts and bolts: You are proactive, ambitious and focussed on your shop’s goals and objectives and your part in achieving them. You are an experienced member of the team, able to resolve issues that occur with minimal direction – a fantastic support to the Assistant Manager and Shop Manager. You have excellent technical knowledge of the shops operations and procedures, and lead the way in ensuring the shop complies with its Think 21 and Responsible Gambling commitments. You live to exceed customers’ expectations, building effective relationships with customers and creating a positive, warm environment which they love to be in. · You have excellent communication and listening skills, able to adapt your conversation style to suit different colleagues and customers. · You are a team player, and go out of your way to see how you can help others in the team, putting the overall success of the Shop over personal recognition. · You take on board feedback from others and try to use this to develop your skills, whilst also feeling comfortable coaching less experienced members of your team. · You are generous with your knowledge and freely share this information with your colleagues, supporting new team members in settling in to the shop. You follow through on your commitments and promises, and are known for your positive attitude at work, keeping others motivated when energy levels are low. You embrace change, eager to learn about new products and promotions you then enthusiastically share this information with customers. You understand that the best customer service isn’t always delivered from behind the counter, and know that the best way to share information on new promotions is by approaching customers you know would be interested. · You are humble and will always admit when you may be wrong, reflecting on what could be learned and improved upon for next time. What’s in it for you? Other than just being able to say you work for one of the most fun and distinctive brands in Europe, you will get: · Industry leading pay rates · A bonus scheme, paid every 6 months if shop hits targets · 28 days paid holiday (pro rata) · Progression and development opportunities in a huge international company, with e-learning and customer service diploma’s available to all · Pay supplement when managing the shop · Defined Contribution Pension scheme · Performance based incentives such as paid holidays, vouchers and shop teams dinners!
