PRIME AE Group (www.primeeng.com), a multi-discipline A/E firm with a combined (16) office locations/over 400 employees within the New England, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Florida Regions, has a unique, and exciting, opportunity for a CAD Architectural Drafter with our Roof and Envelope practice in our Pensacola, FL office that that combines outdoors work (assessments) with office/drafting/design duties. Specializing in the Building Envelope is an exploding segment of this industry with great growth potential!! Primary work areas will include: onsite assessment of roofs and envelopes (outdoors), report preparation as well as design and quality control of roof and envelope projects, including observations of onsite construction activities. Work will be mostly in the Midwest/Northeast but may include work anywhere in the country. May include work on Department of Defense Bases. The onsite trips are typically short – 1-3 days onsite – and planned well in advance. Required Skills and Experience We are seeking individuals with an Architectural background with technical experience in commercial construction. The role will require you to develop drawings and understand construction detailing/components. We can develop an individual on the specifics of roof/wall/envelope systems – we provide training!! Qualified candidates will be responsible to generate professional, detailed field reports for observed activities including photos and overview drawings of the work area. Reports must be well written and be subject to scrutiny from other industry professionals. Ability to create detailed designs that represent either what was observed in the building envelope assessment or proposed remedies to building envelope issues. AutoCAD is required… Revit is a strong plus. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, demonstrate a “can-do” attitude, and be a team player with the physical stamina necessary to safely handle ladders accessing several structures per day. Desire to be trained and pass certifications to become a registered Roof Observer (RRO) and then possibly a Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) or someone seeking, or currently in possession of, Registered Exterior Wall Consultant (REWC) Technical knowledge of roof/wall/envelope systems is a plus but not required Related Tasks include: Designing roof/envelope-related details and drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software Report writing Assisting with envelope assessments and water infiltration investigations Previewing pay applications and close out documents Traveling to multiple job sites NOTICE TO THIRD PARTY AGENCIES: Please note that PRIME AE Group, Inc.
