You Again: The Data Governance Specialist’s main focus will be to turn data into an asset, by putting in place necessary governance policies, frameworks and rules for all data that is stored in an organization. You will work on acquiring, storing and governing data from different sources inside and outside an organization. You will bring a vision of the Big Data governance landscape, with a focus on how to initiate and run an enterprise-wide governance initiative. Finally, you will work closely with other PALO IT experts in Data Intelligence, Research, UX Design, Digital Technology and Agile teams to enable intelligence in the digital mesh of our clients and deliver big impact to them. ➔ Analyze an organization’s business context, and create a vision for the target state; this should be coupled with identifying and implementing the necessary processes and roles required (data stewards etc) to achieve the desired state ➔ Identify and implement Data Governance tools that fit best to an organization’s requirements ➔ Enable data management capabilities to govern enterprise data / metadata and provide easy and secure access to them Still You: ✔ You hold a Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in IT, Information Management, Computer Science or relevant field ✔ Good knowledge of big data technology landscape and concepts related to distributed storage / computing ✔ Experience with Data Governance tools (e.g Collibra, Alation) ✔ Experience in an enterprise-wide Data Governance initiative ✔ Experience in Data virtualization across multiple data sources ✔ Experience in Master Data Management across the enterprise ✔ Experience in Information policy management ✔ Experience in data quality management across the enterprise (e.g completeness, consistency etc) ✔ Experience in implementing processes to ensure data security and privacy (e.g data encryption, tokenization) ✔ Experience with big data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop, Spark) and distributions (Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR) ✔ Experience with batch ETL jobs to ingest and process data from multiple data sources ✔ Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g. Postgres, SQL Server, Cassandra, MongoDB, Neo4J, ElasticSearch) ✔ Experience with querying tools (e.g Hive, Spark SQL, Impala) ✔ You are passionate about technology and continuous learning comes naturally to you If you like what you just read, we’d love to have a chat with you!
