The Opportunity: Orchid Underwriters Agency, LLC (Orchid) is currently looking for a Finance and Accounting Manager for our Tampa, FL or Vero Beach, Florida location. This individual will oversee technical accounting and financial analysis to take Orchid’s finance function to the next level. The ideal candidate will be a strong performer with current or recent Big Four experience and who is looking to broaden their experience with a fast-growing and dynamic company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepares accurate reporting and periodic finance and accounting reports Provides explanation and insights of business performance and results using analysis of variances, trends, and key performance indicators Leads the annual financial planning process, inclusive of establishing a plan and reporting actual performance against the plan Leads the implementation and management of financial applications (e.g., general ledger) Assists with the implementation, maintenance, and review of internal controls and corporate policies and procedures Coordinates with external auditors and other consultants Leads all financial research efforts. Analyzes, resources, and concludes on new and proposed accounting, reporting, and disclosure standards Assists in recruiting, training, and evaluating staff; assists in developing and implementation of corporate policies Assists in the valuation and diligence of acquisition targets Assists on other ad hoc initiatives as necessary Requirements: CPA, with active license status Bachelor degree in accounting or finance with GPA of 3.5 of greater Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity, and professionalism Ability to multi-task and prioritize a diverse portfolio of tasks Excellent project managerial and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects Leadership experience in organizing, planning, and executing projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines Strategic thinking and leadership experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels within an organization. Create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to executive requests Proven ability to perform under pressure and stress to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
