The Asset Reliability Engineer will provide professional maintenance and reliability engineer advisory services in order to improve asset performance. The key output of the role is to establish a Reliability Engineering and Asset Management program that meets business needs and cascade this program to all assets across the specific operations In addition, the Asset Reliability Engineer will be expected to track production losses and abnormally high maintenance costs of assets, and then devise ways to reduce those losses or high costs. Responsibilities Responsibilities and tasks typically include: Assume ownership of complex projects and oversee execution and delivery Work with assigned clients as assigned to analyse failure / maintenance historical data and develop appropriate Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) and Whole Lifecycle Cost models Perform detailed analysis of equipment reliability, identifying gaps between current performance and Client business requirements and / or world class benchmarks, to identify and focus investment in specific reliability improvement activities that will deliver enhanced performance Work with Client Representatives to perform analysis of assets including: Asset Utilisation Overall Equipment Effectiveness Remaining useful life Other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets * Analyse and dissect drawings, diagrams and technical documentation and create function / location / asset lists that meet specific project / customer specifications Analyse and dissect drawings, diagrams and technical documentation and create function / location / asset lists that meet specific project / customer specifications Conduct workshops with the appropriate staff from the customer and / or OEM’s to review / fine-tune / finalise the initial desk-top tactics development work Update the tactics as reviewed / fine-tuned during the customer / OEM workshops strictly according to the inputs provided by the workshop and update the workshop action list accordingly Support the maintenance assessor, as required, with technical skills regarding root cause analysis Assess the process of failure pattern analysis and ensure that maintenance strategies are updated in order to improve availability and reliability, while trying to reduce lifecycle cost Adhere to quality guidelines and ensure peer review processes are followed Report progress daily at the hand of tasks completed, referencing the official project plan Assess any possible deviation from the plan daily, and report all foreseen risks in this regard to the Optimal Designated Lead Consultant Identify any Safety risks and participate in Safety training and initiatives Leverage industry experience, equipment knowledge, software know-how, and customer satisfaction skills to deliver world class solutions to assigned customer accounts Serve as a coach / mentor to others on best practices Required Education, Skills and Qualifications The successful candidate will have: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in plant maintenance / asset care / reliability engineering Experience / knowledge in the following technical areas: Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Reliability modelling and prediction Asset Criticality Analysis Weibull Tree Analysis Root-cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA, RCFA) Data Analysis Failure Modes and Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) or FMEA Asset Life Cycle management Work Management Asset performance monitoring (methods & tools) – MTFB, MTTR, OEE Asset maintenance strategy / tactics development Maintenance principles and strategies (failure modes, failure characteristics, PV intervals * Experience in the field of equipment reliability, machinery or process troubleshooting, plant or process start up, or equipment / system maintenance Knowledge and understanding of PAS55 / ISO55000 / ISO55001 principles Exposure to Computerised Maintenance Management Systems / EAM systems e.g. SAP, Maximo, Oracle Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) High level of computer literacy in MS Office suite including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint - in-depth Excel knowledge required, MS Project Knowledge of basic project management principles Code 08 / EB driver's license essential.
