Within Ocado Supply Chain and Planning Function sits the Demand Team that helps keep Ocado ticking. They are responsible for working with suppliers to ensure our forecasting for products is being put into action and our fulfilment centres stay stocked. The main purpose of this role is to effectively manage two teams of demand managers and all aspects of a complex supply chain business. You will work closely with other departments including support functions, trading and management teams from both Ocado and Morrisons to ensure the high standards of the central planning team are consistently met and/or improved. Support new strategic initiatives and develop sound and efficient processes to ensure targets are delivered as agreed. What will you be doing? The running of two supply chain demand manager teams – this includes: managing direct reports, guiding two separate teams, strategy planning, decision making, communication flow, relationships with suppliers and key business stakeholders KPI focus – Use all available tools and experience to guide a team in reaching and surpassing KPI targets. Develop new and better processes/systems to reach these goals. Work with demand managers to deliver maximum product availability with minimum waste and tightly controlled stock levels Be the main point of contact for any issues within the teams Working closely with the head of supply chain to ensure strong leadership and direction across the teams Analyse data and feedback daily work and longer term projects amongst the demand manager teams Work with all areas of the business to ensure that supply chain maximise Ocado's highly rated service levels, web shop availability and low waste Develop relationships and maintain high levels of accuracy with suppliers in all areas: Product data, Shipping and inbound processes, forecasting, invoicing etc. Focus on the business strategy and work internally and externally to ensure the continued business growth and KPI standards On-going development of in house IT systems and reporting to ensure the end users are presented with concise and user friendly information to influence their work Plan and implement the smooth running of the promotions process. This will include representing the supply chain department in senior management meetings and cross function planning Ensure that Suppliers and all relevant parts of the business are kept informed of volumes and timescales for increased product levels. Keep availability to a maximum while ensuring stock holding and purge risks are as low as possible Work closely with the Ocado operation to ensure supply chain order volumes are in line with operational plans and headcount. Form relationships with senior CFC managers to allow a feedback route for all supply chain/supplier issues Plan and progress seasonal events at a top level, making sure the teams are enthused, structured and running to tight deadlines. Manage the events in conjunction with suppliers, the operation (CFCs) and other internal departments such as trading and marketing Complete personal and personnel development plans, including annual objectives and regular one to one meetings with direct reports Deputise for the head of supply chain when required Take ownership of health and safety practice within their area of work You may be asked to perform tasks as required by management deemed as a reasonable request About you A strong track record in an FMCG or commercial supply chain and a proven ability working within a KPI driven environment Previous management experience in a challenging and fast paced environment Ability to influence effectively and build constructive working relationships across the business A proactive team player, polite, helpful and approachable and willing to share information, knowledge and skills with others. Ability to fit in and guide others in the team and wider business Drive & enthusiasm, demonstrating ability to adapt to fast pace and rapid change and resourcefulness when faced with challenges Ability to work under pressure, maintaining accuracy & keeping to deadlines Strong business skills and commercial acumen Excellent planning & organisational skills, planning and achieving results through effective change management Confident decision maker who is able to work independently and on behalf of many others Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels Excellent PC skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Microsoft Excel) to at least intermediate level A customer focused outlook and the ability to see how day to day issues can impact the customer experience Adaptable and flexible approach to working hours to support a 24/7 business operation Preferred (in addition to minimum) Educated to degree level or equivalent Formal Supply Chain qualification(s) Experience in the e-commerce sector Regular travel is required so a driving licence is beneficial Previous experience of 3rd party vendor management About Ocado Group When our journey started, we were all about changing the way people shop for groceries. 20 years later, we're a FTSE 100 business developing our own ground breaking technology, opening multiple sites at an accelerating rate and engaging in exciting new business partnerships around the world!
