With offices in London, New York, Manchester, Istanbul, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Shanghai, Singapore and Hong Kong, OakNorth is the next-generation credit platform that’s redefining lending to small and medium-sized businesses globally. OakNorth was set up in 2015 by Rishi Khosla and Joel Perlman, who previously co-founded Copal Amba and grew it to 3,000 employees over 12 years, before selling it to Moody’s (NYSE: MCO) in 2014, returning 125 times capital to seed investors. Globally, the platform has been deployed at various banks across North America, Europe, and Asia. Today, the global team is made up of almost 730 people. Reporting to the COO / CTO, you will be responsible for the following business-critical activities: Building a highly effective and scalable IT Operations function at OakNorth that will enable the bank to continue to grow rapidly Keeping the lights on: Including infrastructure, networks, application support and managing the IT Helpdesk Addressing Risks: Owning policies and SOPs, the closure of open audit/ compliance items, the implementation of BCP-simulated activities and any other risks encountered during BAU New Application / Feature Deployments: Including DevOps and capturing the required change approvals You will: Manage the IT Operations team (both in the UK and globally) Develop the existing IT Operations function such that it allows the bank to continue to scale Ensure the smooth functioning of OakNorth’s infrastructure, networks, applications and IT helpdesk Address issues that pose a risk to OakNorth, including owning relevant policies, closure of open audit / compliance items, implementation of business continuity-simulated activities and other risks arising from BAUBe ultimately responsible for new application / feature deployments – including both seeking relevant approvals and DevOps Have oversight for many of the bank’s information technology-related vendors Remain on top of technological developments to enable that OakNorth to remain ahead of other players in the industry You have: 5-8 years’ worth of experience in leading organisations’ information technology efforts Strong understanding of the banking industry from a regulatory and operational perspective The ability to provide thought leadership on the medium and long-term tech strategy for the Bank Clear and effective communication skills (notably when communicating with organizational leadership) Comfort leading a large team of infrastructure and support staff, based both in the UK and globally Experience with the following: Windows and Linux system administration, including Active Directory TCP/IP Protocols, and general function of firewalls and networking equipment AWS system administration and architecture Direct oversight of the CAB process in an agile and fast-paced environment ServiceNow and Jira platforms for both IT and engineering use cases, respectively Single Sign-On and SAML Authentication Systems RingCentral and Swift Financial Systems (non-essential but highly useful) Thank you very much for your interest in OakNorth.
