What we're looking for: OEC Group is one of the largest freight forwarding firms in the US and we're looking to add a Senior Logistics Consultant to our team. We're looking for an individual to work from home (must live in the LA region), covering the Northern Los Angeles region - Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, etc. This individual will report to the LA office but will ideally live in the Northern LA region. They must also have experience selling in the freight forwarding / ocean import industry. As a Senior Logistics Consultant, you will be responsible for prospecting, engaging and closing new accounts, along with building and maintaining relationships with a customer base. Duties and Responsibilities: Developing relationships with customers and generating new business. Forming a customer base by cold calling, issuing quotes, preparing bids and making formal presentations to prospective customers. Soliciting OEC Group's services which include Ocean Import, Air Import, Ocean Export, Air Export, Distribution & Warehousing, LTL Transportation and Cargo Insurance and Customs Brokerage. Responsible for meeting the monthly quotas given by Sales Upper Management. Assisting the Accounts Receivable Department with tracking payments from customer base. Maintaining constant communication with the Operations/Customer Service Departments and overseas offices. Qualifications: Currently working in logistics with at least three years of experience in the freight forwarding industry. Ability to work independently is also crucial to the position.
