The NEXTracker Solar Performance Engineer will be based in Hyderabad, India. The purpose of this position is to develop and optimize tracking software for multiple tracker products and versions developed by NEXTracker. He/She should be able to carry out PV system design & validation studies through testing of software and hardware products. Candidate should be able to carry out feasibility and site analysis studies. This position will be responsible for solar performance modeling, product development & solar EPC/developer support. Perform engineering design for solar PV Plant DC works. Provide document for Energy Storage mechanical and electrical applications needs. Review and develop estimating tools. Travel to customer sites, suppliers and 3rd party testing facilities. Actively monitor and analyze solar resource data, PV performance data, and operations data from PV plants. Regularly compare performance data from simulations with field empirical data. Work with top Independent Engineering companies across world, to validate benefits of NEXTracker’s energy modeling tools. Develop and use physics based & empirical models of PV power plants. Develop methods to optimize empirical models used in solar industry across various inputs and outputs. Drive business processes to ensure scalable, accurate product configuration across NEXTracker’s global sales pipeline. Here is some of what you will need: Strong knowledge of Photovoltaic (PV) devices, system design, technology, and its performance characteristics. Experienced with PVSyst, SAM, PV-LIB, and other PV software/models. Knowledge of physics involved in solar incident radiation. Experienced with handling large data sets, and analysis tools in Python & Matlab. Proven ability to prepare technical reports and presentations. Self-motivated, independent, technical aptitude and excellent interpersonal skills. Here are a few of our preferred experiences: Masters in Mechanical/ Electrical or Renewable Energy/PV with 7+ years’ experience of Solar and Energy Storage (optional) utility scale plant design. At least 4 years of PV Performance Engineering experience.
