NMHU Department of Business Administration is accepting applications for a Assistant Professor for fall semester 2020. The Business program, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) at the undergraduate and graduate level. The successful candidate will teach accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to teach students from a diversity of backgrounds and bring fresh scholarship to the discipline. Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include teaching, advising, and service to NMHU. The teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; teaching assignments will include various undergraduate and graduate accounting courses. However, the first year teaching load is 9 credit hours per term. Teaching will include teaching in various modalities. For example, face-to-face, on-line (synchronous and asynchronous), hybrid (simultaneous face-to-face and on-line) and blended classes (combination of asynchronous and synchronous in the same class). Faculty teaching requirements include advising and mentoring assigned students. Faculty are required to participate in department meetings, and provide service to the department, the university, and the community. Minimum Qualifications An earned masters in business (within an accounting related field) with either a CPA, CMA, or CIA certification. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated excellence teaching accounting and other business courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in various modalities (at least one year). Experience in teaching online courses is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of accounting theory and practice; skill in the use of technology to deliver both online and face‐to‐face courses; commitment and ability to engage students from various cultural backgrounds; the ability to effectively communicate both in writing and speech. May be teaching at night and in live, synchronous or asynchronous on-line, or a simultaneous combination of synchronous on-line and live class formats.
