Manufacturing Engineer - Platform Team This position will lead product development of both new product launch and changes to the existing products to align with corporate manufacturing strategy for North American truck and engine assembly operations. This position will become the SME (subject matter expert) of the Navistar Truck assembly process to: Understand and master the truck manufacturing process at all Navistar locations Become the main interface with Product engineering and provide feedback consistent with the manufacturing strategy and approve all design recommended ch Interface with the manufacturing program leads, the manufacturing plants and the AME implementation leads Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product l This position will also document the best practices and manufacturing standards for their area of expertise Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Basic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 6 years of product manufacturing experience 3D CAD Experience (NX preferred) Experience in assembly processes 25% Travel Ability to define, improve and document manufacturing proces Identify through-put improvements including uptime and failure analysis Ability to work on and manage several large projects simultaneously from start to finish Desired Skills: Process Engineering background Six Sigma background (yellow belt or higher preferred) Truck or other heavy transportation assembly and or testing experience highly desirab Knowledge of equipment procurement process Equipment qualification and plant start-up assistance Knowledge of quality assurance strategy and process capability Experience with developing or maintaining manufacturing execution systems Familiarity with APQP and related processes Knowledge of automated process measurement systems & statistical analysis tools Experience with mechanical/electrical designs and automatic assembly equipment Experience with assembly methods for bolted joints Process implementation and product launch support Project Management for new product and/or assembly process implementation Positive attitude, ethics, and international values which support our company's values and a healthy, high performance culture Commitment to delivering quality processes and products which drive profitability Experience with MS Windows applications EOE Job Type: Contract Salary: $50.00 to $60.00 /hour Experience: Auto Manufacturing Engineering: 6 years (Required) Education: Bachelor's (Required) Work authorization: United States (Required) Work Location: One location Benefits: Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Retirement plan Schedule: Monday to Friday
