Requisition Title – Part-time Member Care Rep - College2Career Nationwide is now hiring the College 2 Career Class of 20 20 ! Nationwide’s College 2Career (C2C) Program provides an o pportunity for college students to gain professional experience at a Fortune 500 company whi le working toward their degrees. If selected for the program, you will be trained during the summer on a full - time basis. Upon successful completion of t raining, you will be offered a flexible part-time schedule working mostly evenings and weekends around your school schedule. The position is in a call center environment, taking incoming calls from current Nationwide members. Here’s how it works: Training: Training begins Monday, June 1st Training schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Note: I t is important that you don’t miss a single day of training if at all possible. You’ll learn in a classroom environment and material is covered at a fast pace. Work Schedule: After successfully completing the training, you will transition to a part-time work schedule, working 20-25 hours per week. The work schedule include s mostly evenings (hours ranging between 4pm and 10pm) and may include 4 hours to be worked on Saturday. Your schedule and days off will work around your college classes as much as possible. T eam leaders will work with adjust your work schedule as needed each semester. Pay: The position pays $ 17 per hour. Location: Position is located at 9903 Nationwide Drive, 78251 (On the Hwy 151 access road at Westover Hills Dr.) Job Summary: The College2Career Personal Lines Services (PLS) team handl e s inbound phone calls from Nationwide policyholders, agents, third parties, and business partners who are inquiring about insurance products, primarily on a single billing account. If selected for this team, you will effectively use available resources to make policy changes, answer policy and billing questions, take payments, and provide requested documentation. You will create a simple, hassle-free interaction for the caller. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills Preferred (but not required) Qualifications: Pursuing a degree in Business or related field Familiarity with insurance customer service or sales concepts Experience in a call center environment Job Description Summary Responds to routine inquiries from customers via phone (inbound/outbound) regarding assigned products. Assists with basic policy changes, gathers information and resolves problems according to established guidelines. Job Description Reporting Relationships: Reports to Supervisor Core Duties and Responsibilities: Delivers "On Your Side" customer service. Provides quality service through general understanding of customer needs and timely response to inquiries Greets customers, and responds to routine inquires. May assist customers with basic policy changes and update payment transactions made by policyholders. Refers customer to more senior staff for non routine answers Processes routine correspondence from customers in accordance with contract provisions and internal procedures and controls. Resolves a variety of customer needs according to established procedures. Interacts with other departments to source information or resolve issues as necessary. Monitors service activity and maintains detailed documentation regarding inquiries. Expected to meet defined service expectations and targets. Performs other duties as assigned. Typical Skills and Experiences: Education: High school degree; some undergraduate studies preferred. Experience: One year related experience required. Experience in insurance industry preferred. Knowledge: General understanding of customer service. Established knowledge of general business practices and terminology. Knowledge of insurance and/or customer service concepts preferred. Skills/Competencies: Effective verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate technical insurance information to policyholders and customers. Ability to identify and evaluate customer inquiries and problems and determine the appropriate actions. Ability to operate personal computer and related software for business applications.
