Newcastle College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Curriculum Leader within Music and Performing Arts. The main responsibilities of this role include the line management of staff across the department, delivery and assessment of high quality learning programmes across Music & Performing Arts, across a range of levels of further education and higher education, as well as undertaking and managing a range of programme and cohort leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties. This post requires a strong background in Music & Performing Arts and the candidate must have proven track record of professional / vocational expertise in the Creative Arts sector. The candidate must be qualified to honours degree level (Level 6) or qualified to the industry-recognised standard in a relevant field, hold a post-16 teaching qualification and English and maths qualifications at level 2, or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE, HE and / or Apprenticeships and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice. An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
