Morrison & Foerster LLP, an Am Law 50 law firm with 17 offices worldwide, has an opening for a Legal Analyst within our Financial Services Group in our New York office. The Opportunity Under direct supervision, act as a guide for and provide organizational and substantive support to the firm's Financial Services Practice Group. Ensures client services and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Primary Responsibilities 1. Provide organizational and substantive support to attorneys in the Financial Services Practice Group. 2. Proofread, cite check and assist attorneys in preparing client memoranda, letters and agreements, and prepare and assist in preparing articles, as well as outlines and PowerPoint presentations used for speaking engagements, client presentations, and to assist with preparation of materials for client meetings. 3. Conduct legislative, regulatory and other research tasks requested by attorneys and clients. Ability to synthesize data into concise communications for attorneys and clients. 4. Conduct regular monitoring of relevant agency websites and/or databases to provide updates to attorneys and clients on key issues identified by attorneys. Assist with drafting of client alerts and client communications. 5. Assist in preparation of and filing regulatory applications. 6. Deliver and/or file documents with federal and state regulatory agencies. 7. Comply with administrative requirements to meet billable expectations; prepare and release timenotes on a daily basis. Ideal Candidate QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience 1. Bachelor’s degree and strong academic record. Teamwork and Applied Skills 1. Ability to take an assignment from inception to completion with minimal supervision or by following broad guidelines. 2. Ability to analyze needs and to determine priorities based on strategic and business objectives; attention to detail. 3. High client service ethic and a proven record in delivering exemplary client satisfaction to external and internal client constituencies. 4. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex ideas succinctly and clearly. 5. Strong technical aptitude and understanding, including ability to quickly learn new applications. 6. Ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions. 7. A highly proactive, solution-oriented approach to work and interactions. 8. Strong organizational skills and the ability to create organizational solutions where a precedent may not exist. 9.
