About the business The Aged & Disability Services Team is committed to providing high quality, flexible and responsive services to over 5,000 Mornington Peninsula residents who are older or living with a disability so that we can support them to live safely, actively and independently in their own home. About the role The Meals on Wheels program provides low-cost, high quality, nutritious meals to service users right across the Peninsula. The role will offer the right candidate the opportunity to join a dedicated Meals on Wheels team and secure an ongoing role with Council. Key duties of the role include: Accountability for the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the Meals on Wheels kitchen within industry standards. Oversee the production of low cost, high quality, attractively presented and appetising meals. Oversee and direct kitchen staff, food storage and safety systems in accordance with the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) guidelines and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles. Contribute to planning of menus and assist with ordering of consumables. Skills, experience and other requirements The ideal candidate will have Qualifications and substantial experience as a Chef / Cook, preferably in the community sector, including relevant experience in a food production service and facility. A positive, passionate and motivated approach to kitchen and meal preparation. A current Health Sector Food Safety Supervisor certificate. Current knowledge of the requirements of training and supervision of food services staff. A valid Employee Working with Children Check (mandatory) Willingness to undertake an Australian Criminal History check undertaken by the Shire (mandatory) A valid Victorian driver’s licence (mandatory) Please review the PD in full for specific information about this role.
