SUMMARY Responsible for helping patients by determining scheduling needs, resolving problems, fulfilling requests for patient advisories and maintaining a cohesive physician schedule. ESSENTIAL DUTIES · Greets patients in polite, prompt, helpful manner and provides any necessary instructions/directions · Scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments · Maintaining cohesive physician schedules for all locations · Obtaining necessary information from patients to create a comprehensive medical advisory · Willingness to further advance medical knowledge to maintain a working understanding of all diagnosis and their specific scheduling needs · Able to maintain composure and patience with demanding phone calls · Accurately and efficiently process and transfer calls as needed using a multi-line phone system · Maintains clean, orderly working area and shared work space · Attends required meetings as requested · Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations · Maintains confidentiality regarding patient account status QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS · High School Diploma or equivalent required · 1 year of appointment scheduling experience strongly preferred · NexTech or electronic medical records experience strongly preferred · Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office · Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external · Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to next level · Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail · Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously within inflexible time frames · Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes · Team player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams · Strong problem-solving skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS · Clinic/Group Medical Practice environment with exposure to communicable disease, bloodborne pathogens and other potentially hazardous chemicals. · Sedentary work. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. · Talking. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
