Position Overview: As a member of the Statistical department, you will be involved with data mining, manipulation and development of Premium, Loss, and Expense reports to submit to Insurance Bureaus, Regulatory Departments, and State Agencies. You will have close customer interaction (internal and external) on Insurance data reporting requirements, along with additional data management activities on deadline-driven reporting schedules (Monthly, Quarterly, Ad Hoc basis). Essential Functions: Responsible for compilation and analysis of data in preparation to submit Premium and Claim data to Bureaus (ISO/Verisk, CAR, SAA, NCCI, Independent Workers’ Compensation Organizations, and State Regulators). Ensure timely compliance with all insurance company statistical reporting; to a high degree of accuracy (Balancing to Company Financials). Write business requirements for new Program Data and Coverage initiatives; along with assistance on on-going systems maintenance and testing. Provide high-quality support to internal and external customer needs including data mapping, data quality analysis/review, and investigation into reasonability inquiry resolutions. Collaborate with in-house technical team, in business analyst capacity – assisting best integration of data into system of record (WINS) and Claim Center. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Science, with emphasis in data analytics, statistics or a related field. 3+ Background in property/casualty insurance; knowledge of ISO statistical plan reporting, and/or other Statistical Agent plans is a plus. Prior experience preparing and submitting reports, Insurance data calls, NCCI statistical reporting process and paying assessments to State Insurance Departments, NCCI and Independent Rating Bureaus and Regulatory Agencies a major plus. Knowledge and understanding of Premium and Claims processing systems and applications. Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office products (Excel – Pivot Tables/VLOOKUP), SQL tool, along with willingness to learn existing in-house applications. Excellent organization, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to successfully work in a team environment and communicate with various ranking levels of internal and external customers. Independent, detail-oriented employee with high level of motivation. Results oriented; ability to prioritize business needs and make decisions while meeting sometimes tight deadlines.
