We are looking for an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (Root Cause Specialty) to join our dynamic team. You will be part of a growing company entering a dynamic commercialization phase with a vision of changing the mining industry. You will play a role in building sensing and sorting products that has demonstrated unprecedented sensitivity and capacity. While working hands-on, you will be contributing to the planning, fabrication, installation/assembly and operation/ maintenance of our products. You get to see your efforts go from ideas to drawings to hardware that will function in the field! POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with multi discipline engineers and cross functional groups on product assembly and testing, you will provide valuable feedback that can be implemented in future products. The role will include (but not limited) to the following: Assemble products & prototypes using hand tools. Carry out end of line testing on products as well as development testing on prototypes. Contribute to product design and manufacturability improvements. Establish work control systems to ensure standards of performance, quality, cost and safety are met. Modify and/or fabricate mechanical parts and electrical harnesses. Specify and procure tools and instrumentation as required. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Technician or technologist diploma in mechanical, electrical or relevant discipline Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a product development, manufacturing or servicing environment. Demonstrated mechanical and electrical assembly capability. Hands on fabrication and maintenance capability. Ability to read and understand mechanical part and assembly drawings. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and systems. Able to identify and use basic hand tools and multimeters. Proficient in using a PC for running tests, reporting and recording results. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be able to work with demanding deadlines and changing priorities. Able to operate a sit down counterbalanced forklift. Able to lift heavy objects up to 20 kg. Nice to have: Experience in quality control systems. Ability to use a vertical milling machine and weld using the SMAW process. Able to use SolidWorks or other industry-recognized computer assisted design/drafting software. Experience with PLC programming or other software programming or scripting languages. Able to use data acquisition systems and environment chambers. Experience designing tests, instrumenting test objects and executing tests. Experience in the field of mining. Why is this a good Opportunity for You?
