The Wales Learning Disability Helpline service funded by Welsh Government is available to help people made vulnerable by their status as a disabled person or as a carer of a person with a learning disability to secure their rights and entitlements and supports both individuals with a learning disability and families to have greater control. The Regional Caseworker will support families / individuals to, for example, access health and social care services, address insecure housing and manage complex financial issues and challenge decision made by statutory agencies. The service fosters resilience, supporting individuals and families to better understand how to challenge public services in order to secure the support they are entitled to. The role will require flexible working hours, which may include some evening and weekend work with extensive travel in the regional area and occasional travel throughout Wales. Key skills and requirements (essential): Experience of undertaking complex casework Experience of challenging discrimination and commitment to equal opportunities Experience of working with & supporting parents / carers and people with a learning disability Experience of solving conflict Experience of working in a co-productive way Judgement in difficult scenarios Building positive relationships / partnerships Proven ability in the use of email, internet, Microsoft based programmes & Customer Relationship Management systems Effective communicator Please look at the attached role profile.
