We are seeking experienced technicians, capable of installing and operating a wide range of audio, vision, IT and lighting technologies. These roles encompass the setup, operation and pack down of these technologies for high-profile events. These openings represent an exciting opportunity for experienced AV Technicians to secure ongoing full- time employment with a market-leading national audio-visual and events company. Roles are also available for suitable applicants who’d prefer to work one of our well-regarded five star venues. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working on conferences, seminars, gala dinners, and similar corporate events/ productions. They should also have highly developed organisational skills, and proven experience leading small teams. Most importantly, a successful applicant will need to be customer focused, passionate, and enthusiastic. The ideal applicant will have excellent depth of knowledge and experience with vision, sound and lighting. A successful applicant will have the following attributes: Passion for technology Direct experience operating audio visual events Strong computer skills Driven to provide outstanding customer service Superior personal presentation Manual drivers licence Due to the nature of the industry, you must be able to work a variety of hours, day and night and be prepared to lift AV equipment. JOB DESCRIPTION JOB SUMMARY As a level 3 events technician you will not only have a solid working understanding of Audio, Visual, Lighting and Information Technology installation, but you will also be extremely comfortable with operating almost any show. As a leading member of the technical team you will assume the responsibility of mentoring those around you and contributing to the continual improvement of the organizations. It is you that will help set the standard. You will need to be flexible in hours of work as we are a 24/7 business. You will need to have the ability to work autonomously, without supervision. Your punctuality, customer service skills and grooming standards would be second to none as would be your people management and leadership skills and your ability to think on your feet and deal with pressure. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Administrational: Managing job related paper work as per company policy. Ensuring that all job related paper work is signed by the client on-site. Ensuring that all additions are signed off by the client on-site and communicated to the account manager. Venue Responsibilities: Working with all venue staff in a courteous and professional manner at all times. Client Related Responsibilities: Meeting and greeting of all Microhire clients on-site. Acting in a professional manner at all times. Ensure successful outcomes & client satisfaction Production Responsibilities: Attend account manager/crew leader meetings. Delivering all jobs with-in agreed time frames and costs. Delivering jobs set-ups to meet the companies and standards and client’s expectations. Ensure that on-site delivery meets client’s objectives as put forth by proposal. Monitor all project team members work flow and on-site deadlines in accordance with project timeline. Ensure events are conducted & delivered continually to a high standard Sub-Contractor Responsibilities: Managing all sub-contractors on-site including but not limited to; Monitoring sub-contractor dress standards; Monitoring sub-contractor compliance with responsible work place safety; Monitoring and managing sub-contractor behaviour; That sub-contractors act in a professional manner. OH&S Responsibilities: Every employee has an obligation to maintain the health and safety of themselves and to ensure they do not endanger the health and safety of anyone else. This means you will: Comply with instructions given by your manager or supervisor to ensure health and safety. Follow all directions including the use of personnel protective equipment to ensure a safe and healthy workplace. Advise your manager or supervisor if you do not feel that you have adequate training or equipment to safely carry out your duties. Report to your manager or supervisor any safety concerns whether or not they have resulted in actual injury with- in 24hrs. Immediately report any injury or ‘near miss’ to your manager with-in 24hrs. Not wilfully or recklessly interfere with or misuse any equipment, sign or device provided for workplace health and safety. Not place at risk the health and safety of any person at the workplace Support their manager, supervisor and other staff and contractors to meet their obligations under this policy Culture and Behaviours: Microhire places great importance on our culture and behaviours. Mentoring those around you - junior technical crew Contributing to the continual improvement of the organizations. OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other activities as deemed fair. Warehouse work as required including maintenance, repairs, factory duties etc. QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCY & EXPERIENCE A minimum of 5 years’ experience in event industry; At least 2 years’ experience as an operator across a wide range of events Moderate to advanced computer skills (including word and excel); A proven track record; Excellent customer service skills (external & internal); Excellent communication skills; Ability to prioritise tasks and be extremely organised; Ability to multitask; * Work to timeframe, at times under pressure; Have excellent knowledge of audio visual equipment, staging, lighting & video; Excellent time management skills; Attention to detail; Self-motivation; Availability to work after hours; Punctuality – start promptly at scheduled start time as agreed by management, and Courtesy and co-operation to colleagues in carrying out your duties. * Ability to teach and mentor * Willingness to learn and take opportunities REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Australian Driver’s License (Manual) EWP/BL License Red Card PREFERED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Level 1 St John First Aid Certificate Medium Rigid Truck License Test & Tag Certification Please forward your resume with cover letter to: [email removed].
