DESCRIPTION The Vice President of Engineering will manage all office personnel and business activities with leadership responsibility for the New York area. The incumbent will provide oversight of day to day office operations while developing, overseeing and managing the growth in New York City and state. The successful hire will protect the core business of MBI through our service offerings and build upon established client relationships for market expansion opportunities. The VP of Engineering will be part of the northeast regional leadership team of office executives, national/regional market and practice leads collaborating regularly for teaming arrangements, work sharing and best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience leading and supervising a multi-disciplined team. You will be accountable for regional performance metrics including: Net Revenue and profit New work added and backlog Headcount growth (recruiting, retention and staff development) Work share and development of balanced office portfolio reflective of Michael Baker International enterprise capabilities Indirect budget control and regional profitability Identifying and developing emerging talent and leadership to create upward opportunity and succession planning Involvement in local professional activities that bring positive attention to the firm PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS B.S. Degree in Engineering, Planning, Architecture or related discipline and a P.E. license in NY, or the ability to obtain through reciprocity 20+ years in Engineering or Project Management with 15+ years supervising engineering personnel Extensive experience in Civil, Structural Engineering, Rail & Transit, Environmental Water Resources, Federal Markets, Construction Services, Transportation Planning PANYNJ, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYC DDC, NYC DEP and local (county, municipal) government experience and client relationships Ability to interact successfully with state and federal agencies MICHAEL BAKER INTERNATIONAL EEO STATEMENT Michael Baker International is proud to be an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
